Help changing your plan in My Vodafone

Step 1

Log into your account at myvodafone.com.au or through the My Vodafone app (iOS and Android).  

Note: We’ll automatically log you in when you're connected to Vodafone internet. If you're trying to change plans on a different account, try this link instead.

Step 2

Click the 'Current plan' menu option, and then select 'Switch my plan'.

  • If you’re using the My Vodafone app or your phone’s web browser, tap the menu button in the top left or right corner of the page and then tap ‘Current plan’
  • If you’re using your computer or tablet’s web browser, you’ll see an ‘Current plan’ link in the menu at the top of the page

 

Step 3

If requested, enter your four digit account PIN, then click 'Next'.

Step 4

You’ll now see details about the plan you’re on.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Compare plans’ button.

Step 5

Scroll through the plans to find the one you’re after.

  • If you've found the plan you want, click the ‘Change to this plan’ button
  • If you'd prefer to compare the plan to your current one first, click ‘Compare with my plan
  • If you need more info about a plan, click the ‘Critical information summary’ link at the bottom of the page

Step 6

If you’ve got add-ons, you’ll see details on the next page.

  • If you want to keep your add-on, click ‘Keep available Add-ons
  • If you no longer need it, click ‘Remove all Add-ons

Note: Some older add-ons aren’t compatible with our new plans so you’ll need to click ‘Continue without Add-ons’ to proceed with your plan change. You can always grab one of our latest add-ons if you need some extra.

Step 7

On the next page you’ll see details of your new plan and any costs associated with the plan change. To complete the plan change, check the box to agree to the term and conditions and then click ‘Change to this plan’.

You’ll receive a confirmation TXT when the change is complete and you’re right to start using your new plan.

 


Questions and answers

Will it cost anything to change my plan?

If you’re on a month-to-month plan, plan changes are free. If you’re in a 12 or 24 month contract, it’s normally free provided you’re moving to another contract plan that’s of equal or higher value. If there’s a cost we’ll let you know about it before you hit submit.

When can I start using my new plan?

You’ll be able to start using your new plan as soon as you receive the confirmation TXT.

Will my contract start again?

Switching between contract plans doesn't cause the contract to start again. We'll automatically transfer the remaining term of your agreement.

When will I start being charged for the new plan?

We’ll start charging you for it from the start of your next bill cycle.

For example, if you changed to a $50 plan on the 30th of March and your bill cycle date was the 5th of the month, you’d start paying for the $50 plan from the 5th of April. The ‘This bill’ section of your invoice would look like this.

How often can I change plans?

You can switch plans once per billing cycle.

Will I be able to switch back to my old plan?

If the plan you were on is no longer offered then you won’t be able to switch back to it. To see what plans are currently available, visit our plans page.

Will the instalments for my Mobile Payment Plan (MPP) or Accessories Payment Plan (APP) change?

No. The instalments for any devices or accessories you’ve purchased will stay the same after changing plans.
