Network unlocking

You can use the unlocking tool on our website to unlock devices supplied by Vodafone Australia, Crazy John's and 3 Mobile Australia.

Your device may not actually be locked. The easiest way to tell for sure is to try using a SIM from a different provider, and see whether it's accepted.

Device purchased from another provider

If you bought your device from a different network provider (including Vodafone or 3 overseas), you’ll need to contact them directly for assistance.

Is it an Apple iPhone or iPad?

Yes No

Your iPhone or iPad is probably already unlocked

iPad

  • We don't lock iPads, so it'll work with a different SIM

iPhone

  • If you've bought your iPhone recently (from April 2013 onward), it won't be locked
  • If you bought your iPhone before April 2013, it may be locked, but a simple backup and restore will fix that. Run through the instructions here

What type of account did you buy your device with?

Prepaid Monthly billed

Unlocking a device purchased with a prepaid account

To unlock a device supplied with a prepaid service, there'll be a cost:

Less than 6 months $50
More than 6 months $25

You can pay with an Australian issue VISA, MasterCard or American Express. Overseas credit cards aren't accepted.

Unlocking a device purchased with a monthly billed account

Your device may be locked, depending on when you purchased it:

  • If you bought your device between the 1st of August 2013 and now, it won't be locked
  • If you bought your device before 1st August 2013, it may be locked but there's no charge to unlock it online. Do it now:
