Recharge by TXT

With Recharge by TXT, recharging your prepaid service is as simple as sending a TXT to 1511 and following the prompts to complete your purchase.

If you’ve registered a credit/debit card to your prepaid phone or mobile broadband service, you can use Recharge by TXT to do the following.

Get the same recharge as last time

Step 1

From the prepaid service that your credit/debit card is registered to, send a TXT with the word RECHARGE to 1511.

You’ll then receive a message with further instructions.

Step 2

Follow the prompts in the message to complete the recharge.

If it was successful, you’ll receive a message with receipt details.

Step 3

Restart your phone to begin to use the recharge.

Change to a different recharge

Step 1

From the prepaid service that your credit/debit card is registered to, TXT the keyword of the recharge you’re after to 1511.

Step 2

You’ll receive a TXT with further instructions - follow the prompts to complete the recharge.

If it was successful, you’ll receive a message with receipt details.

Step 3

Restart your phone to begin to use the recharge.

Top up your My Credit

Before you start

To top up My Credit via TXT, you’ll need to be on MyMix, Combo or Pay As You Go Plus recharge.

Step 1

From the prepaid service that your credit/debit card is registered to, TXT the keyword of the My Credit top up you’re after to 1511.

Step 2

You’ll receive a TXT with further instructions - follow the prompts to complete the top up.

If it was successful, you’ll receive a message with receipt details.

Buy a Prepaid Add-on

Step 1

From the prepaid service that your credit/debit card is registered to, TXT the keyword of the add-on you’re after to 1511.

Step 2

You’ll receive a TXT with further instructions - follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

If it was successful, you’ll receive a message with receipt details.

Step 3

Restart your phone to begin to use the add-on.

Recharge another number linked to your card

Step 1

From the prepaid service that your credit/debit card is registered to, TXT the number that’s linked to the card to 1511.

Eg. TXT 0426320000 to 1511

You’ll then receive a message with further instructions.

Step 2

Follow the prompts in the message to complete the recharge.

If it was successful, you’ll receive a message with receipt details.

Linked numbers can only be recharged by TXT from the number that the credit/debit card is registered to.

 

If you’ve got a recharge voucher, you can also use Recharge by TXT to redeem it.

Redeem a recharge voucher by TXT

Step 1

From the prepaid number you want to recharge, TXT the 12 digit recharge PIN from your voucher to 1511.

Eg. TXT 123456789012 to 1511

Step 2

You’ll receive a TXT from 1511 showing the value of your voucher and a recharge option you can use it with.

  • If the recharge option is the one you want, simply reply YES
  • If you’re after something different, follow the link provided to redeem your voucher online

If you reply YES, you’ll get a confirmation TXT when the recharge is complete.

Step 3

Restart your phone to begin to use the recharge.

Are messages to 1511 free?

Yes, it’s free to send a TXT to 1511.

I’ve recently joined Vodafone prepaid, why can’t I use Recharge by TXT?

If you’ve just registered a new prepaid service and haven’t yet recharged it, you’ll first need to recharge it using another method before you can use Recharge by TXT.

Is there a limit to how much I can recharge with my card?

Yes, daily and monthly credit/debit card recharge limits apply. Check our support page for details.

I’m using a tablet or mobile broadband device. How do I use recharge by TXT?

Visit our support page to see if your device is capable of sending TXT and instructions for common devices. If your device can’t send TXT, check out other ways you can recharge.

Is Recharge by TXT available on all prepaid plans?

It’s only available for Pay As You Go Plus, MyMix (via credit/debit card only), Prepaid Combo, 365 Days, Pay As You Go, Prepaid Cap and Prepaid Mobile Broadband recharges. If you’re on a different recharge, check out other ways you can recharge.
